What Grok Bot actually does

The examples stretch well beyond the coding work that built Cursor. SpaceXAI describes bots researching sales prospects, drafting outreach, updating CRM records, processing invoices from Gmail, preparing marketing campaigns, reproducing bugs and managing support queues. The launch thread says early users have also assigned Grok Bot to negotiate with vendors in their voice and operate support for online stores. Grok Bot's central product decision is to use interfaces the way a person would. An agent can navigate websites that lack an API or Model Context Protocol connection, according to the launch materials. That gives Grok Bot a wider theoretical range than workflow systems that require a supported integration, while exposing it to the same changing interfaces, ambiguous prompts and permission boundaries that make browser automation difficult.

SpaceXAI says bots return to the user when approval is required. The level of autonomy varies across its examples: sales emails can be queued as drafts, while other agents update operational systems or process work inside authenticated accounts. For customers, the useful distinction will be which actions require confirmation and which Grok Bot can take on its own.

Cursor's move beyond coding

The product is distributed through Cursor's infrastructure even though it carries the Grok name and appears on SpaceXAI's website. The iOS App Store lists Anysphere as Grok Bot's developer, while the desktop downloads and sales links are hosted by Cursor. (x.ai)

That arrangement reflects how closely the two operations have already been combined. Cursor and SpaceXAI jointly trained Grok 4.5, which Cursor introduced in July as its first model designed for knowledge work outside software engineering. Grok Bot packages that model strategy into a standalone worker with persistent access to a computer, rather than limiting it to a chat window, code editor or command line. (cursor.com)

The beta also gives Cursor a way to sell its highest-priced subscriptions to employees who do not write code. Grok Bot's pricing page lists Cursor Ultra at $200 per month and Cursor Premium Teams at $120 per seat per month. SuperGrok Heavy subscribers receive access through their existing plan. Cursor's existing pricing centers on developer agents, code review, cloud execution and access to AI models. Grok Bot turns those subscriptions into an entry point for broader office work. Trust becomes part of the product

Grok Bot asks for a deeper level of access than a conventional assistant. It needs credentials for inboxes, CRMs, vendor portals and other systems where a mistaken action can create financial, security or customer-service consequences. Cursor says its broader platform supports privacy mode, security assessments and controls that prevent code data from being used for training when privacy mode is enabled. Anysphere's App Store disclosure says the iOS app may collect data linked to a user's identity, including contact information, user content, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics. The beta will test whether users trust a general-purpose agent with the accounts where work is actually completed. Cursor has already shown that developers will pay for agents capable of changing code and running tools. Grok Bot applies the same operating model to the rest of a business, where completing the task means sending, filing, updating or purchasing inside systems that carry real authority.
