Why it matters
Anthropic is making Claude a starting point for data and creative work while keeping specialist tools in the workflow. Query visibility and editable animation code give users ways to check and revise outputs, but the beta launch comes without accuracy or adoption results showing how well the workflow holds up.

Anthropic is extending Claude into workplace tasks with Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion, two beta tools announced on October 8th. Users can create data dashboards and animated explainers in Claude, then carry the work into specialist software for further work. Anthropic described the tools in a product announcement, amplified by Claude's official account on X.
Dario Amodei co-founded Anthropic with his sister Daniela after both worked at OpenAI. Anthropic's early public framing centered on building AI systems that people could rely on; its leadership page describes Amodei as leading Anthropic's research direction and strategy for reliable, interpretable and steerable systems. The new features extend Claude into daily company work with data, presentations and customer materials.
A first answer, with the query attached
Claude Dashboards connects to data platforms including Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks and Snowflake, as well as Salesforce. A user can ask a question in plain language, and Claude builds a dashboard that Anthropic says stays current as connected data changes. Anthropic positions it for quick, exploratory questions, such as comparing signup activity across time or reviewing sales opportunities.
Users can inspect the query behind each number and ask Claude to explain it. The dashboard also shows when its data was last refreshed. These details make the output easier to check, though they do not establish that the underlying query is correct or that a dashboard is suitable for decisions requiring formal analysis.
Anthropic says users can send dashboards to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma for deeper analysis; Looker, monday.com and Tableau are listed as forthcoming integrations. Claude is positioned as a place to ask an initial question and shape an answer, with established analytics products remaining part of the workflow.
Motion makes editable code, not footage
Claude Motion takes a similarly bounded approach to video. It turns supplied text, charts, shapes and images into animated explainers that users can edit, revise through prompts and download as MP4 files. Anthropic says Motion writes code to animate those materials rather than using a video-generation model. The output contains no generated footage or AI-generated people, according to the company.

Because Motion animates supplied materials with code, users can change figures, wording and timing. A team can ask for a chart animation in a board presentation or a short product walkthrough, then adjust the result or hand it to Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI or Runway. Canva and Captions are listed as future connections.
Both launches are betas. Dashboards is available on paid plans; Motion is available to Team and Enterprise users. Enterprise administrators must enable both under Organization settings > Artifacts. Anthropic has not published adoption, accuracy or reliability results for either new feature, so the announcement establishes what the tools are designed to do, not how consistently they do it in production.
A wider Claude workspace
The release also moves Claude Docs, Slides and Design out of beta and makes them available on every plan, including Free. Anthropic says users have made more than 45 million documents, decks and designs in Claude. That is a company-reported usage count across those existing formats; it does not measure use of Dashboards or Motion, which are newly entering beta.
Anthropic is also folding Claude Design's standalone site into Claude. The site is scheduled to remain available until December 14th, with no year specified in the announcement. Anthropic says Design has worked inside Claude conversations since September 16th, also without specifying the year in that passage.
