Why it matters
Fast ARR and early customer count suggest product-market pull for a hybrid model that augments, not replaces, recruiters. If it holds, AI-plus-human workflows could reset how growth teams hire.

Arya Marwaha (@arya_marwaha) launched Contrario, an AI recruiting startup, saying the company has reached $6 million in annualized revenue in under six months and partners with 200+ companies, in a thread on X.

The pitch is human-in-the-loop. In an official announcement titled "Better recruiting, built on Contrario," the team frames the product as using AI agents to "superpower a network of expert recruiters" so companies can hire faster and with higher confidence. The post lays out a split of responsibilities: agents automate the repetitive, high-volume work across sourcing, outreach, and coordination, while human recruiters handle calibration, judgment, and closing. The announcement is live on the company blog and the product site offers demo scheduling at contrario.ai.
VentureBeat covered the launch, highlighting the case for pairing AI agents with human recruiters, in its story. Yahoo Finance posted a brief item on the news.
On funding, Marwaha said the seed was led by Arjun Gandhi and Jishnu Bhattacharjee at Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Tyler Bosmeny and Harj Taggar at Y Combinator, Luis at Goodwater Capital, Inventum Ventures, InvestorX, and angels from companies like OpenAI and WeAreHRT.
Marwaha credited co-founder @soodadityab as a driving force behind the company, thanking him for the late nights and endurance over the last year in the launch thread.
