Cat Wu leaves Anthropic and promptly joins OpenAI to lead product management for Core Products
Wu led Claude Code and Cowork at Anthropic until October 30th, and now joins Tibo Sottiaux's Core Products organization at OpenAI.

OpenAI is importing the product leader who helped turn Claude Code from an internal Anthropic tool into a coding and agent product that challenged OpenAI directly. Wu now enters the organization that owns ChatGPT, Codex, the API, and agent infrastructure, with a stated brief to build team agents that keep users in control.
Catherine "Cat" Wu (@_catwu) is joining OpenAI to lead product management for Core Products, she announced on X on November 5th.
Wu named Thibault "Tibo" Sottiaux (@thsottiaux) as the leader she is excited to work with, and set out the product direction in plain terms.
