RUNTIMEWIRE INVESTIGATION — Original analysis

Original reporting by RuntimeWire, based on reverse engineering, testing.

Why it matters

The code reveals which conversation-quality and return-visit metrics this client is built to display; the inspected route does not show that businesses can access them.

Finding

Inspection of ChatGPT for Windows package 26.1027.3384.0 found Agent Insights reporting code, but the inspected business-profile route passes enabled=false and does not expose the reporting runtime.

How we verified

Methods: reverse engineering, testing.

The inspected signed package contains Agent Insights report interfaces, requests and data checks; the business-profile route disables the runtime. A preserved earlier build lacks the exact quality-report endpoint, quality interface namespace and return-visit labels.

RuntimeWire inspected the signed Windows package downloaded in Chicago on October 29, 2026, compared its code with preserved package 26.1023.6621.0, and traced the business-profile route's agent API scope and runtime requirements. The feature was not enabled and OpenAI's private endpoints were not called.

Tested versions:

  • 26.1027.3384.0
  • 26.1023.6621.0

Reproduction

RuntimeWire was not able to independently reproduce the finding.

A monitor displaying code sits beside a compact desktop computer on a metal workbench in a lab, with equipment and an “Rw” label behind it.

RuntimeWire's inspection of ChatGPT for Windows package 26.1027.3384.0 found code for business-agent reports on conversation quality and return visits. In that build, the business-profile route disables the reporting runtime. The code shows how OpenAI may measure conversations with a business's own ChatGPT agent; it does not show that advertisers can use the reports.…
