Why it matters

Hyperbolic is funding a move from GPU access software toward a capacity marketplace. Its planned resale and dynamic-pricing features depend on whether Forge can make machines across providers reliable and interchangeable enough to trade.

Hyperbolic raised $30 million in an oversubscribed Series A1 led by Walden Catalyst, giving co-founder and CEO Jasper Zhang (@zjasper) funding to expand its GPU management software and build a marketplace for capacity across providers. The company announced the round on October 27th, saying the planned Global Compute Grid will let AI teams find, manage and resell eligible GPU capacity.
