Why it matters

Keyframe is selling video as an add-on layer for existing AI agents and voice systems. Word-level emotion tags give developers a direct way to script avatar behavior; adoption will depend on whether that control and the per-minute cost justify putting a generated face into real customer interactions.

A lifelike digital avatar speaks on a studio projection as capture cameras move nearby and a Keyframe Labs sign hangs on the wall.

Keyframe Labs has put its Persona 2.0 Live avatar model into preview, adding word-level controls that let developers direct an avatar's expression through emotion tags in voice or agent prompts. The Los Angeles startup described the release in an October 12th thread on X, and recommends pairing the model with ElevenLabs v4.
