NVIDIA says its 1B NVFP4 embedding model processes 27% more documents on GB200

NVIDIA reports a 27.1% throughput gain for its 1B NVFP4 embedding model over BF16 on GB200. Separate agent simulations report 13% to 14% fewer inference tokens with reranking.

Why it matters

Agent costs depend partly on how many searches and reasoning turns it takes to find useful evidence. NVIDIA's tests suggest reranking can reduce that work, while the parser helps make charts, tables, and scanned pages searchable. Independent reproduction is needed to assess whether those benchmark gains carry into customers' document pipelines and hardware.

NVIDIA says its new retrieval models cut agent token use by up to 14% — The release pairs multimodal search and reranking with a 631M-parameter document parser; NVIDIA's savings come from its own benchmark tests, not production deployments.

NVIDIA has released a new set of retrieval models for AI agents, saying adding its reranker cut token use by 13% to 14% in tests while improving retrieval accuracy. The models are designed to search text and document images, rank likely evidence, and turn pages into structured data.…
