Why it matters
Photon is using credits and a multi-channel beta to recruit developers around Daniel Tian's thesis, which he pursued by building an iMessage bot: agents may reach users through existing conversations instead of standalone apps. The beta will show whether one integration can reduce the work of reaching users across channels.

Photon says it has opened a public beta of Photon 2.0, offering $100 in credits to developers building messaging agents and a way to connect those agents to iMessage, voice, email, WhatsApp, Telegram and SMS. The company described the launch in an October 15th thread on X, pitching a single integration for channels that developers otherwise have to support separately.
