Why it matters

RoboParty is pitching a humanoid platform built around openness across hardware, controls and training. Its earlier ROBOTO ORIGIN project has a public codebase, but the RP1 repository currently lists presentation materials rather than the full stack the company says it plans to release.

Developers work together on an unfinished humanoid robotics rig beneath a RoboParty sign in a workshop.

RoboParty unveiled RP1, a bipedal humanoid robot it says will give researchers access to its hardware and software stack, at IROS in Pittsburgh on September 28th. The startup posted about the robot on X on October 14th, more than two weeks after the debut; an earlier company announcement on PR Newswire was dated October 3rd.
