SpaceXAI appears to be adding full-interface themes to Grok Bot
A preview shows a new theme picker days after SpaceXAI widened access to its persistent agent app across Grok and Cursor plans.

Why it matters
Grok Bot is shifting from an agent demo toward an everyday work client. Themes are minor, but their arrival after a rapid access expansion shows SpaceXAI prioritizing adoption and daily use.
A settings preview posted on X on August 24th shows SpaceXAI preparing additional themes for Grok Bot, adding another layer of customization to the two-week-old agent app.

The video shows a "Theme" control inside Grok Bot's General settings, separate from the existing color-mode selector. The interface changes its accent colors and surrounding visual treatment as themes are selected. The preview indicates that SpaceXAI is moving beyond a basic light-or-dark choice toward broader presets that change the appearance of the desktop client.
SpaceXAI's current settings documentation only lists three appearance options: Follow System, Light and Dark. It also warns that settings can vary by account and rollout. The broader theme picker shown in the preview therefore appears to be an unreleased or limited-rollout feature rather than a setting available to every user. A release date and the names of the individual presets remain unspecified.
The location of the control matters. The theme picker appears under the app-wide Appearance section, rather than inside the settings for an individual Bot. That points to themes changing the Grok Bot client as a whole. SpaceXAI already lets users give each Bot a name, title, description and avatar, according to its Bot management documentation.
Product polish follows wider distribution
SpaceXAI launched Grok Bot in early beta on August 11th as a desktop and mobile interface for persistent AI agents. Each Bot has a continuing conversation and working context, while multiple Bots can exchange messages, share files and coordinate through group chats.
The product is designed around a persistent cloud computer with a browser, filesystem and terminal. Bots can sign in to web applications, work across tools that lack an API and continue running after the user's laptop closes. They can also watch a person complete a workflow and save the process as a reusable routine, according to SpaceXAI.
That makes Grok Bot closer to a messaging client for software workers than a conventional chatbot window. Its sidebar can hold a roster of named agents with different roles, while conversations display tool activity, files, questions and approval requests alongside normal messages. Themes are a small feature within that system, but they fit SpaceXAI's effort to make a complicated agent runtime feel like familiar workplace software.
The timing follows a distribution push. On August 21st, SpaceXAI expanded Grok Bot access to SuperGrok Plus, Cursor Pro+ and all Cursor Teams plans. Eligible subscriptions now include SuperGrok Plus and Heavy, Cursor Pro+ and Ultra, and Cursor Teams Standard and Premium. The desktop application supports macOS and Windows, while SpaceXAI also offers an iOS client. Its documentation says a Linux desktop version is not currently available.
SpaceXAI's access expansion brought the app to less expensive and more widely used plans only three days before the theme preview surfaced. The sequence suggests the company is polishing the client as Grok Bot moves beyond its initial high-priced beta audience. Interface customization does not improve an agent's reasoning or reliability, but it can make a product built for all-day use easier to distinguish from the growing pile of dark, nearly identical AI workspaces.
A new interface for the post-xAI company
Grok Bot is also one of the clearest software products released under the combined SpaceXAI identity. SpaceX acquired xAI on February 2nd, bringing Grok and xAI's other products under SpaceX while X.AI LLC continues to operate the product sites and services.
The theme preview does not change Grok Bot's core pitch: persistent agents that carry out work in browsers and business applications. It does show where SpaceXAI's product team is spending time immediately after launch. The company has already widened access, documented team-based Bot management and built desktop and iPhone clients. Now it is working on the ordinary interface details required to turn an agent demonstration into software people keep open throughout the workday.
