Why it matters

Frameboy tests whether World Labs can turn Atlas from an offline world generator into an interactive renderer, the capability that would make spatial models usable for games, film, design and robotics iteration. The demo also lands after AMD agreed to acquire World Labs for about $8.2 billion in stock, so its speed and cloud cost now bear directly on what AMD is buying.

Stone ruins and an arched bridge span floating, forested islands above clouds, with a waterfall, sunset, and “RW” lettering on a rock.

World Labs released Frameboy on November 5th, a research preview that streams its Atlas world model from cloud GPUs to a browser at up to 15 frames per second as users control the camera, the company said in a thread on X. The demo is available at Frameboy. World Labs says it serves a variant of Atlas tuned for the fastest, most efficient inference it can achieve while keeping strong novel view synthesis.
