Why it matters
XGRIDS is demonstrating its hardware-to-Unreal workflow on a town-scale scene. The company’s reported splat count establishes scale; production performance and repeatable customer demand remain unproven.

XGRIDS said in a post on X on October 15th that it had reconstructed Minning Town across 23.5 square kilometers, creating a 6.2-billion-splat scene that can be used as a virtual film set in Unreal Engine. The project puts the Shenzhen spatial-capture company’s hardware and software into a production workflow built for a town-sized environment, rather than a single room or object.
