Why it matters

Coding agents turn model choice into a recurring enterprise expense, spread across teams, tools and credentials. Grid gives Baseten a control point above inference that can direct traffic to cheaper models, including its own, while giving platform teams budgets and audit records.

Baseten, the San Francisco AI inference company co-founded by chief executive Tuhin Srivastava, introduced Baseten Grid on November 4th, 2026, as a gateway, routing and guardrails layer for enterprise coding agents. Baseten (@baseten) said in a post on X that Grid routes requests, monitors usage and governs access across coding agents, and the company opened early access through a waitlist.
