Joby's Xwing-derived autonomy system can address freight and defense missions on conventional aircraft without relying on the certification or production schedule of its electric air taxi. If the Resonant Sciences acquisition closes, Resonant will become Joby's dedicated defense business and absorb Joby's existing defense initiatives, including its autonomy stack and turbine-electric and hydrogen-electric aircraft programs.
