Notion wants ChatGPT and Claude to share one memory inside its workspace

Memory sync via MCP is live, but Notion's own October 19th release still listed skills via MCP as coming soon.

Why it matters

Agent memory is where switching costs now form. If preferences, project context and skills live inside one chatbot, changing agents means starting over. Notion wants that accumulated context stored in a workspace the user controls, which would make Notion infrastructure for agents built by OpenAI, Anthropic and others rather than a documents app competing with them.

Three glowing transparent blocks sit on a wooden desk, showing the OpenAI logo, a Notion N, and an orange starburst symbol.

Notion wants ChatGPT, Claude, Muse and Bot to save what they learn into the same Notion memory instead of keeping separate histories inside each product, a pitch it laid out in a thread on X on November 4th, 2026. The company said the agents can also use the same skills in Notion, and it linked separate setup paths for ChatGPT and Claude plus a prompt that other agents can paste into a chat.
